Gerald Howson - bardzo polska sprawa
Published both in Polish and in English, the “Gerald Howson – a very Polish affair” album contains over 120 black and white photographs taken by the British artist in Poland in 1959. Gerald Howson visited Cracow, Nowa Huta, Lublin, and Warsaw. His task was to document everyday life behind the Iron Curtain. The book is a photographic account of his journey, supplemented with a narrative and commentary by Bogdan Frymorgen, the editor of “Gerald Howson – a very Polish affair”. It also includes a transcript of an interview given by Howson in 2012, in which he recalls not only his journey but also shares his thoughts regarding philosophy, photography, the arts, and history.
